Synopsis:
Your love life seems to be in an uproar. The two of you are having financial problems or sexual disagreements. There is also something going on regarding your parents, roommates, or your home life that is adding to the problems in your love life. Luckily, you are given opportunities to kiss and make up, to have fun together, and/or to remember why it is that you fell in love to begin with. You also have some financial concerns towards the end of the month, but you are able to put in extra time at work, brainstorm ideas with your coworkers, or just work harder… in order to help resolve the matter.

From October 11th through March 9th, Saturn and Pluto clash. This is that same battle that the sun and Mercury triggered. This time, it is bigger, uglier, and far more important. Your partner is not getting along with your roommates or parents. Or a partner is upset about your residential situation, retirement plans, or something else in your private life. It could be something as simple as the two of you not getting enough privacy or as big as a fear that you will lose your home to the current housing crisis. A business partner could be upset that you spend too much time focusing on your home life. Your best friend and your roommate could be in a fight. However, most of the time, this shows up as a spouse ticked off about chores, household projects, and/or someone living in their house.
From October 24th through November 4th, the sun and Mars are clashing. Mars is in your personal wealth and self-worth sector. The sun is still in your lovers, pets, children, hobbies, luxury, and happiness sector. Your finances are messing with your ability to have fun, splurge on loved ones, etc. This could have you feeling pretty ticked off about the situation too. You may have to focus on free or inexpensive forms of entertainment and find creative non-monetary ways to say, “I love you.”
From October 29th through April 8th, Saturn leaves Virgo and your third house to enter Libra and your fourth house. He will backtrack and revisit Virgo and your third house from April 8th through July 20th. After that, he will stay in Libra and your fourth house for the next couple of years. For Cancer, hosting Saturn in the fourth house can be very painful. Cancer rules the fourth house, so what happens here is taken very personally. The fourth house is about real estate, housing matters, roommates, parents, childhood issues, retirement planning, and “coming home”. You could struggle with keeping a roof over your head, battle over mortgages and rental contracts, fight with a remodeling or landscaping project, deal with annoying roommates, struggle through negative relationships with your parents or spend time battling childhood demons and have a hard time forgiving your parents for their role in whatever happened, and/or you could be trying to create a retirement nest egg and find that it is more challenging than it should be. If you suffer marital problems, they will mostly be about your private lifestyle, the house, chores, yard work, etc. the things that make up our idea of “home”. You could also argue about retirement planning or your parents. Saturn could also challenge you with “home” related topics, but rather than driving a wedge between the two of you, you could be challenged as a joint partnership. As a couple, what do you do to fix household problems that come up? As a couple, what do you do about each other’s aging parents? As a couple, what do you do about retirement planning? These are the types of questions the two of you could be forced to face.
From October 31st through November 5th, Venus begins working with Neptune. Together, these two like to create romance, love, compassion, charities, and the fine arts. They are dreamy, sexy, and into a spiritual mystical kind of romance. Financially, they create a generous, intuitive, and/or philanthropic approach to wealth. This could also be a lovely time for redecorating your home and working to bring more trust, love, inner peace, harmony, and beauty into your sanctuary.

November 2nd hosts a full moon in your friendships, teams, clubs, committees, professional associations, networking, interconnectivity, and Internet sector. Full moons are for endings, closure, and grand finales. This one is harshly affected by Mars in your personal wealth and self-worth sector. You could quit a team, club, committee, or association because of financial disagreements. You could end a friendship or stop hanging out with a group of friends because they make you feel bad about yourself. You could shut down a website because it is too expensive to keep running, finish working on a website but not get paid for your work as agreed, fire a Webmaster, or stop using an ISP or email server because of financial issues. Networking efforts could end badly and have you quite annoyed at the lack of results. Whatever the ending in your social networking sector, you are not happy about it and your anger could be the cause for the ending.
From November 7th through the 10th, Venus takes her turn working with Pluto to try to mediate solutions to partnerships-related problems that Saturn and Pluto are creating. Venus and Pluto rule over all forms of seduction and money so you could find you are in the mood for romance and profits! Venus has moved into your romance, playtime, children, pets, creativity, hobbies, luxury, and happiness sector, so this is a good time for you and a lover to kiss and make up, for best friends to spend some quality time together, and/or for turning a favorite hobby or pastime into a lucrative business idea for you and a trusted business partner.
From November 7th through the 13th, the sun is in your personal pleasure, lovers, romance, playtime, pets, children, creative talents, hobbies, luxury, and happiness sector and is clashing with Jupiter in your trust and sharing, intimacy, fidelity, loyalty, joint finances, commissions, royalties, stock options, inheritances, and profit sharing sector. Infidelity, differing sexual needs, and/or romantic trust issues can put a real damper on your ability to have fun and to enjoy some playful lovemaking. Trust issues or financial problems involving lovers, children, pets, hobbies, playtime activities, and/or luxury items could also be causing you come concern. Until the 9th, Mercury will be adding an argumentative energy to this problem.
From November 9th through the 13th, Mercury and Uranus are working quite nicely together. These are the two planets in charge of genius, intellect, independence, and spontaneity. They are combining your personal pleasure sector with your long-distance travel, multicultural teachings, languages, religions, politics, laws, universities, mass media, and global awareness sector together in a smart, fun, and charming way. This is an excellent time for falling in love with foreigners and people raised in cultures different from your own. It is also a great time for traveling, vacations, exploring, taking classes to learn fun and interesting new things, and/or for anything else that broadens your horizons while adding joy to your life. If you work in an industry that you genuinely love and/or an industry that brings joy into other people’s lives (like luxury items, sports, theater, music, creative arts, etc) then this could be an especially good time for international sales, marketing, advertising, and/or for expanding your product line to include exotic items. The sun, Venus, and eventually Mars still have to pass through here, so you will have more of this lovely energy in the future.
From November 10th through the 13th, Mercury begins battling Neptune the same way he just did with Jupiter. This adds more of that troublesome energy causing your “happiness” sector and your “trust and sharing” (sex and money) sector to clash. When Mercury and Neptune battle, we often find lies, deceit, gullibility, negative self-talk, escapism, and/or hidden agendas are a key factor in the drama that unfolds. This is not a good time for financial or romantic negotiations.
From November 11th through the 18th, the sun begins working with Uranus the same way Mercury is. This prolongs your ability to blend “happiness” and “global” energies in a positive and fun way.
From November 13th through the 18th, the sun battles with Neptune the way that Mercury just did. Your love life is still taking a beating. Trust issues, sexual problems, and/or financial matters are all possible causes.
November 16th hosts a new moon in your personal pleasure, lovers, playtime, children, pets, creative talents, luxury, hobbies, and happiness sector. This is a great time for launching any new hobbies or activities that will bring more joy and happiness into your life. Neptune is still clashing with the sun and causing financial, romantic, and/or trust issues to shadow this fresh start in your “happiness” sector. However, Uranus is still working wonderfully with the sun and encouraging you to think outside the box, travel, learn, explore, and do not be afraid to try something spontaneous and different while creating this new beginning in your life.
From November 16th through the 18th, Mercury is working with Saturn. Saturn and Pluto are in a major battle causing your “home” sector and your “partnerships” sector to clash. A few weeks ago, Mercury was working with Pluto trying to bring more romance, fun, luxury, and/or happiness into your partnerships. Now, Mercury is trying to play peacemaker with Saturn. Mercury is in your daily work, coworkers, productivity, chores, to-do lists, physical health, and “feeling useful” sector trying to help you get things done around the house. Even if Mercury is unable to ease your residential dramas, he can at least help you to get a lot accomplished professionally. You could bring work home from the office, work on a home-based business or in a home-based industry (like landscaping, real estate, hospice care, interior decorating, etc), and/or you could find that your parents are in need of assistance on a project an you are able to give them a hand.
From November 16th through the 22nd, Venus and Mars are not getting along. These are the cosmic lovers of the universe, so when they fight it can be like an old married couple. Mars is in your personal wealth sector and Venus is in your personal pleasure sector. Mars is ticked off that Venus is spending too much money on holiday gifts, romantic date nights, sporting events, theater tickets, fine dining, luxury items, etc. You will need to keep an eye on your spending and make sure that you stick to a budget.
From November 21st through the 26th, Venus and Jupiter are recreating the romantic and/or financial trust issues that have been plaguing your love life, hobbies, luxury spending, and/or other forms of “happiness”. If you work in “happiness” industries, this could be a tough time financially. You may be having trouble getting paid your fair share of the profits.
From November 23rd through the 26th, the sun and Saturn get along quite nicely. Like Mercury a few days ago, the sun is helping you to get things done around the house, help your folks with their projects, work on a home-based business, or find some long-term success in home-focused industries.
From November 23rd through the 28th, Venus and Uranus work together to create more of that delightful energy blending your “happiness” and “global” sectors together. Once again, you could find yourself traveling, taking fun college classes, falling in love with foreigners, and/or using this for international business deals involving a profession in one of the “happiness” industries.
From November 23rd through the 29th, Mercury and Mars are getting along wonderfully. Mars is working hard to boost your personal wealth and self-worth sector and Mercury is working just as hard to boost your productivity levels, coworker relationships, and/or your ability to get plenty of work done. Together they help you with both financial and professional goals in a smart and tenacious manner.
From November 25th through the 29th, Venus battles Neptune. Once again, lies, deceit, manipulation, and/or secret agendas could be the cause of romantic or financial trust issues negatively affecting your ability to have fun.
From November 27th through December 17th, Mars opposes Jupiter. Last summer, Mercury, the sun, and Venus passed through here and created an ugly opposition between your two financial sectors. Mars is just now getting ready to catch up and will re-trigger various events that you have already dealt with in the past. First, he opposes Jupiter (and then Neptune). This creates a “mine” versus “ours”, salaries versus commissions, and/or self-worth versus fidelity/trust issues battle. You could be fighting someone else about getting your fair share or about trust and loyalty issues or you could be battling yourself about your own attitudes.
From November 28th through the 30th, Mercury begins working with Jupiter. Mercury and Mars are already getting along blending your personal wealth and daily work sectors together in a smart and productive manner. Now, Mercury is also working with Jupiter in your commissions, royalties, stock options, bonus checks, and profit sharing sector to add more financial and professional help from that angle. Mercury’s position temporarily helps in the opposition between salaries and commissions because he is convincing both planets to work on your behalf. Since mercury is in your daily work sector, you could find that working some overtime or getting a second job is helpful. Or maybe you just do a great job and earn a nice bonus check or a bigger than usual commission check. Whatever it is that Mercury does, he helps you to work hard and earn more money as a result.
From November 30th through December 2nd, Mercury moves on to work with Neptune. This is more of the “daily work” blending nicely with “commissions and profit sharing.” With Jupiter, it was about “abundance and prosperity” but with Neptune, the focus changes to more intuition, gut instincts, charity, and philanthropy. You might just intuitively “know” how to increase your profits at this time or maybe your boss is feeling more charitable than usual and he hands out bonus checks earlier than originally planned. Perhaps gift money will show up quite unexpectedly, but it is somehow tied to the fact that you are such a hard worker and that you are seen as trying so hard.

October 2009 Horoscope
Your monthly horoscope follows this main text for all signs.
For the last two and a half years we have all been asked to adapt to new situations in some area of our lives as Saturn transited Virgo. This transit began in Sept. 2007. We have all had to establish more order; schedules have been influenced, along with employment and/or health care issues that have been in the spotlight for many. Serving something or someone other than ourselves meant we had to remain flexible in the face of change. Adjusting to new circumstances may have been challenging, worrisome, or burdensome as Saturn tested our strengths and weaknesses.
This month will set the stage for a new trend which we will all experience at some level. On Oct. 29, 2009, Saturn, the “Taskmaster”, the planet of old age (Father Time), hard work, and determined effort will enter Libra for the first time since Sept. 1980—Aug. 1983. Think back, if you’re old enough, to what significant events happened in your life during those years because similar themes may develop during this transit.
Saturn will retrograde at 4° Libra on Jan. 13, 2010, and re-enter Virgo in April 2010. During the retrograde phase, Saturn will remind you of the commitments and decisions you are making right now. Saturn will station direct at 28° Virgo May 30, 2010, finishing up its final trek through Virgo on July 21of next year and will not re-enter Virgo again until 2036. From October through January 2010 we will get a hint of what this Saturn in Libra transit will be like, especially for those that have planets 0-5 degrees in their charts.
The Cardinal signs, or people with planets 0-5 degrees in Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn, will experience Saturn almost immediately. In addition, the Cancer/Capricorn eclipse in December and the eclipses next year will influence these signs so there are sure to be dramatic changes for the Cardinal signs and for those with planets within them.
Saturn’s transit through Libra until Oct. 2012 will give each of us enough time to grow from this planets influence. Saturn is exalted in Libra, meaning Saturn holds Libra in high regard and works well in this sign. Libra is a relationship sign; a sign concerned with equality, fairness, justice, and beauty. Creating balance in our relationships will be of fundamental importance, as will how we relate to others. We will learn to compromise, weigh both sides of the coin, and treat others as we want to be treated.
There will be challenges on the way where we are held responsible for our actions, or we will weed out what doesn’t promote progress in our lives and in our relationships. All relationships will be influenced, from marriage and family, those who you do business with on a daily basis, and to those that oppose you. Relationships are our reflections—what we give out, we receive in return. Saturn will remind you of that fact. Saturn will ask you to accept certain boundaries and when you do this graciously, you will be compensated. Saturn always leaves you a gift after it leaves a sign. Usually that gift is one of strength and stability because Saturn’s job always builds a firm foundation in the area it is transiting. Sometimes the reward hits you like a revelation when you look back on the last 2 ½ years because Saturn’s lessons are always slow, and always deliberate.
Cancer,
October begins with Mercury (communication and ideas), Venus (love and money), and Saturn (work and structure) transiting your 3rd house of siblings, local travel, and relating. July born Cancers will notice the energies most as the planets suggest you need a more disciplined approach in the way you give and receive information. By learning a little self control you’ll find it easier to handle daily affairs, relationships, and work. With so much emphasis on your 3rd house, you may spend more time keeping appointments, with correspondence, and sharing your ideas or learning. It’s not uncommon for Saturn in this area of your chart to cause one to feel lonely, isolated, or lack self-confidence. If this is you, this transit could be what motivates you to become more productive or acquire the skills you need to express your talents.
Your domestic situation or family will demand more attention from you in October. Home may be where your heart is or property could be in need of repair. Mars, an action planet, is still transiting your sign, giving you the push to accomplish your goals. Mars can cause upsets (stomachs and headaches) and you may react more aggressively or emotionally during this transit. Mars also rules over your career, so you may have some stressors trying to balance your private life with your public affairs.
Full moon in Aries on Oct. 4 falls in your 10th house of career, reputation, and your role in life. Cancers born within 5 days of July 3 will feel this full moon most. This full moon may find you reacting to a situation at work, with a man, or regarding a parenting issue—your own or with a parental figure. Be careful of harsh words or feelings now. There may be a challenge or a call to take action. If this full moon doesn’t influence you personally, it may concern developments in your partner’s career, some of which might not be anticipated.
Mercury enters your 4th house on Oct. 9/10 (depending on your location) and Venus follows Oct. 14th. This transit may bring more activity into the home as you may want to spruce up your surroundings, or purchase something that your family will enjoy. You won’t have to go far for love and affection; in fact, family may be more generous with you. Real estate, loans, contracts, or agreements are favored, especially Oct. 17—25.
Mars enters your 2nd house of income, possessions, and self worth on Oct. 16 for an unusually long transit. Mars will transit Leo until June 6, 2010—almost 8 months! Mars can help you make great strides financially, but what you earn may leave your hands as fast as you get it. Be careful here because by October 25th Mars starts stirring your financial pot and an unexpected outflow could sap your reserves. This long transit suggests that you have an important work related project or personal goal that will help you become more productive and efficient in your work or daily life. This may be something that helps you build your leadership skills.
The new moon Oct. 18 falls in your 4th house home, family, and property. Cancer’s born within 5 days of July 18 will notice this new moon most. The universe will pour its energy into an important home, family, or real estate issue. If you want to move, remodel or redecorate, have a family reunion, or are trying to sell your home, this new moon may get things started. In addition, the new moon could boost your partner’s income, or you might receive money from another source that helps your domestic situation.
The sun enters your 5th house Oct. 23 and Mercury follows Oct. 28. The next few weeks will turn your attention to romance, children, hobbies, pleasure trips, and your self expression. November is going to be a mixed bag of tricks for Cancer, so take advantage of this focus on your pleasure sector and find something amusing to do. Creativity may be heightened during this transit; listen to your creative visualization CDs, get out your paints, or wipe the dust off of that old guitar.
Saturn enters Libra, your 4th house of home, family, and property Oct. 29. This may be a difficult transit for you as the 4th house is the very foundation of your chart. Saturn here often results in added responsibilities at home, separations from family members (for many possible reasons), or insecurity issues surrounding your family or domestic situation. Saturn has rulership over your relationships, so this transit may find you having to care for a partner, an elder, or having to take on parental roles alone. This could be the result of your partner’s career and them having to travel, or it could be for other reasons unbeknownst to you at this point. It’s not an easy transit, but it is a productive transit because once Saturn leaves this sector you will begin to move back up and out into the world.

September 2009 Monthly Horoscope
You enter the month with the sun spotlighting your 3rd house of transportation, agreements, siblings or other relatives, neighbors, and your immediate surroundings. You’ll want to experience something new and you may take a short trip to a nearby city. This may be an active month for you with many errands, appointments, phones calls, and correspondence. This is the time of year that your life picks up speed.
Perhaps more importantly, clear communication and listening should be your goal this month, Cancer. If you have an important paper to write or idea to share, you’ll need to do this right away because your communications planet (Mercury) is about to turn retrograde, which can cause confusion, misinterpretations, and scattered thinking. This transit can bring negotiations or contracts, but with Mercury about to turn retrograde, signing contracts or making important decisions may not turn out as planned.
The full moon Sept. 4 (in your 9th house) may deliver news from afar, of a legal nature, regarding higher education, or a publishing, Internet, or media related endeavor. Another possibility is that you could hear something concerning a female family member, possibly a grandparent. You may be the Cancer that hears about a long distance issue culminating which could concern a move due to career developments—for yourself or your partner. The full moon falls in Pisces, a compatible sign with your own; however, the lunar energy may evoke strong feelings because you tend to absorb full moon energy more than other signs. After all, the moon is your ruling planet, Cancer. Cancer’s born within 5 days of July 4 will be more affected by the full moon than others.
Mercury will be retrograde Sept 6 – Sept 29. Mercury is the planet that governs transportation, communication, and all things related to the transfer of information. You should expect any of these areas to be influenced during Mercury’s retrograde. News becomes confusing, transportation is delayed or full of complications, and ideas or agreements are asked to be reconsidered. Items are often lost during this time, so keep your eye on important belongings and documents. I never found my credit card or car keys, items which I lost during two separate Mercury Retrograde periods. Be careful of what you spend your money on during any Mercury Rx phase because you may never use it or you might end up taking it back because it doesn’t work. The store shelves and car lots are full of “not so great deals” during this phase. Anything that is communication or transportation related may cause you problems such as computers, phones, gossip, fax machines, vehicles, or shopping over the internet.
You can’t put your life on hold during Mercury Retrograde, but you should concentrate on the things that are going on in your life now. Rest, relax, rejuvenate, re-write, re-organize, review, research, reflect, and re-evaluate.
For Cancer, this Mercury retrograde may complicate communications and/or transportation. A prior health condition could resurface or you may see a specialist during this time to help you sort out a lingering medical problem. Someone or something from your past may resurface during this phase. You may be rethinking further education or training. You could hear a secret, possibly from a relative.
Venus transits your 2nd house of income and possessions through Sept. 20. September offers you an excellent opportunity for financial and material gains. You may attract money to you, but you may also spend more than you should. Objects of beauty, such as a designer suit or luxury Italian linens, may be on your wish list. If you invest your money in something that can increase in value, you’ll probably make a nice profit later on. This is a favorable time for financial talks or agreements, but don’t sign important documents until October.
Mars transits your sign through Oct. 15. Mars rules over your career, therefore this Mars transit may bring longer hours and/or you may be expected to produce more. Balancing home and career, or daily work and home life, may seem challenging now. Hosting competitive and determined Mars in your sign while Venus transits your income makes you a powerful force at work, increasing your ability to earn more.
Mars isn’t happy in your sign, but Mars can help you get ahead fast at whatever you set your mind to do. Your personality will be strong and you may defend your opinions, but you’ll need to be careful that you don’t intimidate other people. You may appear more assertive, confident, or competitive, which may or may not be true. Your energy will increase so this would be a good transit to start an exercise routine as you’re more likely to stick to it. Sensitive Cancers will need to be careful of emotional upsets with Mars in your sign. Excessive worrying or increased anxiety could cause stomach problems. This transit will find you working harder to further your own interests.
Your busy trend will continue all month and will be further empathized at the new moon September 18. Cancers born near July 18 will be marked by the new moon most. You may take a quick trip out of town within the week following the new moon. The new moon may entail a new writing assignment or learning something new—however, you may feel like it takes Herculean effort on your part to accomplish the task.
There are many difficult aspects this month and in the days leading up to and following this new moon. Saturn, ruling your relationships, will oppose Uranus in your 9th house on Sept. 15. This aspect suggests breaking out of a negative situation. This could be related to adult education/training, long distance travel, a relationship with a relative or neighbor, or a legal case. A secret could come out now, be it yours or another’s, or it may deliver nerve rattling news concerning your significant other.
Also on Sept. 15, Venus, now stationed in your money sector, opposes Neptune in your 8th house of shared resources. This could result in disappointments or unrealistic expectations concerning a monetary situation. Something could develop where you won’t be able to count on money that you earn or share with another. The sun in your 3rd house of information and transportation will oppose Uranus Sept. 17. This can bring some surprising developments, enough to shock you and throw you off guard, or it may be something as minor as a flat tire, missing your plane, or a computer break down—if you consider that minor. If you are involved in a legal matter, or even in an in-depth conversation, someone may try and cause conflicts. Cancers born near July 18 will be influenced most.
September will be a memorable month for many signs, mostly because of unstable planetary patterns. The majority of heavy hitter aspects come into play around midmonth. Saturn will be nearing an exact opposition to Uranus which manifests Sept. 15. This aspect can result in sudden breaks or the need to break free of limiting circumstances.
Venus opposes Neptune on Sept. 15 which may result in having unrealistic expectations in a relationship. Someone may have a hidden agenda or there could be disappointments. No relationship should begin under this aspect if you want something lasting. Use this energy to help someone less fortunate or visit someone you know that needs cheering up.
On Sept. 17 the Sun will oppose Uranus, the planet of sudden unexpected events and breakthroughs. Accidents, irritability, tension, restlessness, impatience, and radical change are a few keywords you should know if you are influenced by this aspect. The sun opposes Uranus every year.
On the new moon Sept. 18, Mars, stationed at 15° Cancer, will trigger events related to the July 7 lunar eclipse at 15° Capricorn. Mars is used as a timer in astrology; I usually mention this at eclipse time and give you dates to expect eclipse activity to unfold. Mars has reached the exact degree of opposition to the July 7 eclipse, therefore some of you may be dealing with the results of that eclipse now.
Still active at the wake of the Sept. 18 new moon, these aspects remain volatile through Sept. 25 when the moon meets up with Pluto at a highly sensitive degree in Capricorn. The earliest born in the signs of Cancer, Libra, Capricorn, and Aries will be influenced most by this conjunction. Dependant on your birth chart, other signs may also experience intense emotional changes or the feeling of being completely overwhelmed. Home, family, and/or finances may demand your attention. Possessiveness, jealousy, and power struggles, sometimes due to emotional manipulations, can result.
That said, powerful planetary patterns as we have now are often the driving force behind major breakthroughs. Lessons will be learned (some the hard way), progress will be made (through sheer will and determination) and barriers will be broken (with extra effort and hard work). At the end of the day you may be thanking the Universe for the aspects that propelled you through a month like September.
Venus glides into your 3rd house of local travel, transportation, siblings, and communicating on Sept. 20. This transit is about the beauty of relating and the pleasure you receive through sharing ideas and expressing yourself. You will avoid serious subject matters and enjoy communicating just for the pleasure of conversation.
