July 2009 Monthly Horoscope Forecast

There are two eclipses this month, a lunar eclipse in Capricorn followed by a solar eclipse in Cancer. These eclipses are forerunners for a new eclipse season in the cardinal signs. The cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) are self-starters, initiators, motivated, ambitious, and determined signs. All of the cardinal signs will be affected by this series of eclipses because they will influence the sensitive angles of your solar chart. The Cancer/Capricorn eclipse season will continue through July 2011.
If you have planets in your chart within 3 degrees conjunct or opposite of the eclipse, you can be assured you will be influenced. Those with planets within 5 degrees will also feel the eclipse in their lives, although the eclipse may not be as powerful. You may not have any planets in the Cancer and Capricorn sectors of your chart, but these empty houses and the issues they represent for you will be of greater significance over the next 18 months.
August will complete the eclipse season that began in Feb. 2008 in the fixed signs of Leo and Aquarius with a final eclipse in Aquarius on August 6, 2009.
You’ve come through a series of eclipses that helped you learn to express yourself within a group of like minded people. The Leo/Aquarius eclipses called upon you to reach out and love unconditionally. These eclipses encouraged you to give up part of yourself for something that others also identified with. This undoubtedly centered on the heart of your true nature. This may have been a humanitarian effort or a group cause. This next eclipse season is about building foundations, at home and in your public life.
Eclipse always herald in a new era for everyone. Eclipses have been viewed as bad omens since ancient times. Do not lead yourself to believe that something terrible will happen. Eclipses are catalysts for transformation and can lead to a crisis in ones life. This is why they are referred to as the “wild cards” of the zodiac. Look at any crisis as a crossroads, for you will be letting go of something so that a new chapter can unfold. An eclipse is a new or full moon, but they carry a triple power rating compared to our monthly lunar cycles.
This Cancer/Capricorn eclipse season will crystallize your needs and your ambitions. They will define how your home and family is structured. Your goals and career path will become clearer. You will learn self-discipline and responsibility, in your personal life and in the way you do business. The Cancer/Capricorn eclipses will help to balance your emotional and material security.
The last Cancer/Capricorn eclipses were August 1990—Dec. 1992 and July 2000—Dec. 2002. Think back, if you’re old enough, at what occurred in your life during those years.
You life may be influenced by an eclipse within a month to the day on either side of the eclipse date. If you have planets in your chart directly impacted by one of the eclipses, it is unlikely that you will have to wait to hear something concerning the planet influenced and the house that it governs in your chart.
Lunar eclipses are powerful full moons. Lunar eclipses amplify matters that have past their usefulness. They bring endings, closure, resolutions, solutions, and finality. They touch us at a deep emotional level and influence our relationships.
Solar eclipses are powerful new moons. Solar eclipses illuminate matters that call for your attention. A solar eclipse brings fresh starts, new opportunities, and exciting new possibilities. However, if a solar eclipse conjuncts or opposes a planet or angle in your birth chart, you may find yourself in the midst of a crisis. Any crisis will prompt you to take the necessary steps for your destiny to unfold.
Aquarius, The sun transits your 6th house for the first three weeks of the month. Work, employment, and/or any service you provide will be highlighted now. The 6th house governs the manner in which you perform chores or other duties. You will focus on your skills and strive to become more efficient. Co-workers may require more attention during this transit and may look to you for assistance.
This is not a self-gratifying time, but it is a time that you will look at your work and what you can accomplish with a sense of pride and satisfaction. You’re concerned with your body and/or your diet now. This is a good month for a checkup and a good time to think about dropping a bad habit. Issues surrounding child care, health care, family pets, home related projects, and keeping schedules may demand your attention.
Mercury enters your 6th house July 3rd. Mercury is the most active planet in July, so you should expect this to be a busy month with many errands, details, and mental stimulation. Issues regarding local travel and finances may require your attention. Your thoughts and conversations turn to business and relationships when Mercury enters your 7th house July 17.
Venus (comforts and money) and Mars (action and ambition) will change signs and move into your 5th house. This transit favors love, romance, creative expression, the arts, and entertainment. If you are ready for a good time, you just might get it now! In fact, you may not want to deny yourself a good time in July and will be eager to have fun. Romantic partners are warmer, kinder, and gentler as these are the characteristics you exude. Compromise may be easier now.
If you have children, have those serious talks now because Venus will help conversations run smoothly. Do something fun with your kids this month as Venus in this sector may bring out the child in you. Mars transiting your 5th house can cause accidents with children or during outdoor activities for yourself. Keep a close eye on the little ones and watch your step, Aquarius.
July 7, 2009, the full moon lunar eclipse occurs at 15° Capricorn.
Aquarius, this lunar eclipse falls in your 12th house.
If your birthday falls within three days of Feb. 4, you will feel this eclipse more than others in your sign.
If you are employed, some part of your job may be ending now. Someone may leave your place of employment which may translate to more responsibilities for you. Commissions, bonuses, group insurance, or annual raises could be influenced. If you were involved in a grievance against your employer, this could come to a head in the coming months, or you may finally see an ending to a long drawn out situation. Check your rising sign for career happenings because this eclipse may suggest your career is changing.
If you have had a challenging health condition, this full moon could emphasize what’s going on. You may find a specialist and the next several months could find you making frequent visits to your doctor’s office. There may be a need for surgery which requires an extended stay in the hospital, if not for yourself, perhaps for your partner, your mother, or a close female friend. This eclipse could close a chapter for a health related issue for some Aquarians.
This series of eclipses falls on your health and services axis. Being of service may require that you sacrifice your personal needs for a while. You may be taking care of someone who is sick, confined to the hospital, or to their home. There could be frequent trips to therapy and all of this may be tiring for you. This would be in line with the solar eclipse and your routines changing. In addition, the eclipse may influence the health of a female you know. She may be elderly, someone from your past, or your partner.
Psychological health may suffer if the eclipse aspects outer planets in your chart. Eclipses falling in the 12th house can make you feel depressed, isolated, sad, lonely, or may have you thinking that no one understands your problems. You’ve just come through 18 months of eclipses to your sign and your relationships may have resulted in more than one difficult transition. Life changing transitions can influence your emotional health. If this is you, you may get the help you need which will help you along the healing path.
The 12th house does govern losses and endings. If you have a beloved pet, please keep your eye on your friend at this time. This eclipse could result in the transition or loss of a pet, but is not limited to pets. On the other hand, if you’ve been waiting for years to get a pet, this lunar eclipse working together with other eclipses over the next 18 months may find your life changing as you bring a new friend into your home. My sister’s husband would not agree with her about getting a dog. She had waited 9 years, then after a lunar eclipse in February she adopted a rescue dog from me. It wasn’t an easy transition, as they had to learn a lot about dogs, but she tells me she’s happier than she has been in years

July 22, 2009, Total Solar Eclipse at 29° Cancer.
Aquarius, this solar eclipse falls in your 6th house. If your birthday is within three days of Feb. 18 you will feel this eclipse more than others in your sign.
Venus, a money and pleasure driven planet, does square Saturn which could coincide with setting your hopes too high, feeling restricted, or not getting the credit you deserve. Not everyone will experience this aspect. This eclipse can be challenging if it conjuncts or opposes a significant planet in your chart. There is a possibility that your forecast doesn’t speak for you, but may relate to your partner. The planets and houses govern important people in our lives.
This eclipse may find you settling into a new routine. This could be for health reasons because you are ready to get fit and fabulous! If you can, wait until after the next full moon before you weigh yourself again because we tend to retain fluids as the moon grows to fullness. Also, it would be best to start exercising now, then after the full moon in August start your new eating plan. Sure, you can cut back on sugars or start making conscious decisions about what you’re eating, but you are apt to eat more as the moon grows to fullness as our desires increase during the moon’s waxing phase. Additionally, small changes such as giving up sodas or snacking late at night can give you a big edge on a weight loss, while forming better eating habits may alleviate stomach upsets.
Your daily living arrangements may change in the coming months. This could be because there is more traffic in the home with people coming or going. This could translate to family members or it may include contractors, construction workers, landscapers, or designers. This may be the year you finally decide to get some help. You could hire a nanny, housekeeper, gardener, an accountant, or a nurse if you have someone in your home that needs assistance.
There could be changes to your routines at work if you are employed. Contracts may be changing for some. This is not a career eclipse, but it could influence something going on at your place of employment. You could be promoted, receive recognition for job performance, or earn a bonus or nice compensation package. A temporary assignment may also be on the cards.
You could be opening a new business or take on a second job to help meet expenses. Childcare, interior design, housekeeping, accounting, catering, real estate, or crafts and hobbies could bring in additional income. You could be getting ready to retire under these alignments which would certainly be a fresh start in your daily routines. While there are new beginnings, there may be a new ending.
If you are long suffering from a health condition this eclipse may find you on a healing path. There are undertones which suggest that a health condition could require surgery, but your natal chart should support this as well so you shouldn’t worry unnecessarily.
The sun enters your 7th house July 22. Your attention will turn to committed relationships and business agreements. Business may include healthcare, loans, child support, taxes, legacies, government funds, or credit cards. There may be contention with someone in the last days of July. This may be on the job or with an authority figure. This is the best transit to have for expressing yourself in partnerships and for strengthening relationships. It’s also a month to fine tune business formalities and contractual agreements. Additionally, if you need some help, a specialist would be helpful. Routines could be challenging and may strain relationships. You’ll go further by reaching out and working peacefully with others.
